Hound Studio was tasked with creating a promotional video for the World Wide Fund (WWF) within a tight 8-week deadline. The video’s focus was on showcasing Nature-Based Solutions in Zambia’s Kafue Flats and Lukanga Swamps, vital ecosystems that ensure water stability for agriculture and millions of lives.The real challenge was turning complex environmental concepts into a powerful narrative for local and national legislators. As climate change causes unpredictable floods and droughts, we must emphasize the urgent need for sustainable solutions to protect these natural systems and secure the region’s future.
With complete creative freedom, we crafted a compelling narrative to illustrate the intricate Nature-Based Solutions and their transformative impact. Despite a demanding schedule, our team delivered exceptional results by utilizing cel (frame-by-frame) animation to bring the story to life. We designed breathtaking landscapes that emotionally connected viewers to the pressing issue of climate change. As extreme weather events like floods and droughts grow more frequent and unpredictable, the consequences for Zambia’s population – such as crop failures and food insecurity – become increasingly severe. Our animation aimed to raise awareness and inspire action by highlighting the urgency of protecting these vital ecosystems.
