For our latest project with the Municipality of Ede, Hound Studio created an engaging and educational animation explaining the concept of WOZ value and its impact on municipal taxes. We created several projects for Ede Municipality, helping to simplify a complex subject, guiding residents through the process of determining their home’s value, filing objections, and understanding how taxes are calculated. Using dynamic visuals, relatable scenarios, and a touch of humor with a curious cat, we made an otherwise technical topic accessible and enjoyable.

Creating a clear and visually engaging narrative for a topic as intricate as WOZ value calculation was no small feat. The animation had to balance technical accuracy with viewer engagement while adhering to the Municipality’s branding and ensuring accessibility for all residents, regardless of their familiarity with tax concepts.
Hound Studio tackled this by designing a seamless blend of motion graphics and storytelling. We utilized relatable visuals like seesaws, house comparisons, and digital tablets to explain the concepts effectively. To maintain uniformity, we echoed elements from previous municipal videos. Humor, including the recurring cat character, added a lighthearted touch, while thoughtful animation transitions ensured clarity throughout the narrative.
This project showcases how animation can transform a technical subject into a compelling story. By combining clear visuals, relatable scenarios, and humor, we helped the Municipality of Ede connect with its residents in a meaningful way.
