INSPIRED BY ART: MAGRITTE
Today we celebrate the art of René François Ghislain Magritte, a Belgian surrealist. Magritte’s work frequently displays a collection of ordinary objects in an unusual context, giving new meanings to familiar things. His imagery has influenced pop, minimalist and conceptual art.
And our next inspirer is very unusual. Why? His works frequently inspired not only other artists but also scientists in their academic studies. For example, his work was used by Chen Ning Yang, a physicist and Nobel Prize winner, to illustrate his new hypothesis involving symmetry and its application to quantum physics. Any guesses?
